Taylor Swift‘s newest single Back to December is getting crazy fan feedback and some are hoping it might reignite Taylor-squared Part 2. We’re breaking down the news and lyrics right now.
Taylor Swift update. So her latest single to be released, Back to December, is already creating quite the internet hype, even breaking the Top 10 songs on iTunes within 24 hours. It’s clear that slow, emotion-filled song is a real apology — I mean, even Taylor has admitted it! But listeners are pretty sure that this apology is directed straight at Taylor Lautner. The lyrics go ‘Your guard is up and I know why. Because the last time you saw me is still burned in the back of your mind.
You gave me roses, and I left them there to die.’ Yep, that deserves an ‘I’m sorry’, right? Well, the part that gets a little more into the Taylor-squared assumption is the part of the song that goes: I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile, so good to me, so right, And how you held me in your arms that September night.’ Remember that’s the time of the MTV VMAs in 2009 when Swift won an award, the whole Kanye thing went down and Lautner was on-stage for the presentation. And, of course, TL is quite known for his tan skin and sweet smile, right? This is a brave apology from Swift, especially when she sings ‘So this is me swallowing my pride standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night. And I go back to December all the time.’ It’s almost as if Lautner needs to respond to this song or something… do you think this new track from TS’s upcoming Speak Now album might spawn Taylor-Squared Part 2? And should they give it another whirl?
